Ramen noodles starting from the “bowl” x design
As a related program to the “Ramen Donburi Exhibition” at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, a museum in Tokyo Midtown, Taku Satoh, director of the museum and exhibition director, and Mari Hashimoto, art writer and editor, also exhibition director, will take the stage for a talk event.
The “Ramen Donburi Exhibition” will exhibit a total of 40 “Artist Ramen Donburi,” ramen bowls and lenghi designed by designers and artists from various genres, including some works being unveiled for the first time. Proposals for new ramen stalls and “Anatomy of Ramen and Vessels,” which examines the origins of ramen and vessels using the “Anatomy of Design” project that Taku Satoh has been working on since 2001, will also be introduced. The culture and history of ramen, as well as the climate, environment, and history of the Tono region where the bowls are produced, will also be unraveled.
