Collaboration of two traditional crafts – celebrating the artisans affected by the disaster
Traditional Wajima lacquerware artisans, impacted by the January 1st earthquake on the Noto Peninsula, collaborate with Kutani pottery to forge a path forward. Utilizing damaged Kutani pottery, they create new pieces embellished with Kintsugi, a repair technique using gold leaf, and fine coloring. Explore the resilient artisans’ works created at the temporary studio established to support them.
