Extending the Japanese painting viewing experience

Gyokudo Kawai was a Japanese-style painter active from the Meiji to Taisho periods. The valley depicted in his masterpiece “Going Spring” was actually photographed and recorded, and recreated as an installation space. The real “Going Spring” can also be viewed at the National Museum of Modern Art.
